7: We now have a branch of the mozilla tree for Chimera. The Chimera tree is a branch
8: of the Mozilla 1.0 release branch. We will not be coming back to the trunk until
9: after Chimera 1.0 is released. This way we can guarantee stability in the layout
10: engine and mozilla tree while we hammer out the rest of the GUI and hone the layout
11: engine patches for ATSUI and plugins.

1.34 ! hyatt 13: What this means is that you can now build Chimera without having to apply any
1.33 hyatt 14: patches, since the Chimera mega-patch has been checked into the branch. We are
15: also now producing nightly builds, and we will have tinderboxen monitoring the
16: Chimera branch soon. Remember, although these nightly builds will have a version
17: number on the splash screen, they should not be considered to be official releases.
18: When you go to grab this most recent nightly, it's going to claim to be Chimera 0.3.
19: It isn't. It's just the latest snapshot on the way to 0.3. :)

93: We are holding Chimera 0.2 for Quartz rendering and plugins.

95: you can view the Star Wars Episode II Trailer in all its glory inside

103: We are currently working on version 0.2 of Chimera. It should be
104: coming your way fairly soon.
105:

106: I received feedback from loyal Omniweb users requesting that I produce
107: numbers using the latest Sneakypeeks rather than 4.1b1. I was told that
108: the latest SP was substantially faster. That is absolutely true. Check
109: out Omniweb's improved numbers in the page load tests
110: here.

1.20 hyatt 112: I also received feedback from iCab users asking me to run
113: iCab through the page load tests. I should clarify why iCab was
114: left out of the tests. The problem with iCab is that it does not wait
115: until images on a page have loaded before it claims that the page is
116: fully loaded. This means that the numbers that it scores on the test
117: are inaccurate, because they don't include the time for loading images.
118: This is in direct violation of the specified behavior for load handlers,
119: so iCab was disqualified from all tests.
120:

123: It contains support for security (SSL, HTTPS, etc.) as well as
124: support for alerts and user/password prompts, and some more crash
1.18 hyatt 125: fixes. This build is also 5% faster than 0.1.2. :)

1.15 hyatt 130: For the curious, I have posted the results of a browser showdown
131: between the major OS X browsers. The clear speed winner? Chimera, of

1.17 hyatt 133: Of course all we do is speed right now, so until we're a full-featured
