   36: <h3>Biobar - A toolbar for browsing biological data and
   37: databases.</h3>
   38: <p>The <strong>biobar</strong> project is a bioinformatics
   39: power-browsing toolbar for Mozilla-based browsers including
   40: Firefox and Netscape 7+. This toolbar provides access to all
   41: major biological data resources. The primary advantage of this
   42: tool is that it allows a biologist to browse and retrieve data
   43: from Genomic, Proteomic, Functional, Literature, Taxonomic,
   44: Structural, Plant and Animal-specific databases. In addition to
   45: the browsing features, <strong>biobar</strong> also provides
   46: links to important bioinformatics sites and services including
   47: services at the <a href="http://www.ebi.ac.uk/">European
   48: Bioinformatics Institute (EBI)</a>, <a
   49:  href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/">National Center for Biotechnology
   50: Information (NCBI)</a> and <a href="http://www.ddbj.nig.ac.jp/">DNA
   51: Data Bank of Japan (DDBJ)</a>.
   52: The tool also provides links to major data deposition sites for
   53: nucleotide, protein and 3D-structure data. Finally, the menu also
   54: contains links to many Sequence, Structure alignment and analysis
   55: tools.</p>
   56: <p>The latest release <strong>(Version 1.3)</strong> of biobar
   57: provides browsing access to <span style="font-weight: bold;">38
   58: different biological databases</span> (<a
   59:  href="http://biobar.mozdev.org/Databases.html">listed here</a>) as well as a <b><i>significant</i></b> improvement in the codebase and functionality (See Below).</p>
