9:
News, 6th December: Lots of people are having problems retrieving
10: annotations, because they are unable to access the data from the
11: bookmarklet servlet. The next version of Annozilla will use new
12: Mozilla interfaces to avoid using the bookmarklet servlet.

13:
News, 27th November: The latest Annozilla release (0.3) does not work
14: with Mozilla 0.9.6, owing to some changed interfaces and so on. I am
15: working to get out a new version which addresses all those
16: issues.

17:
This is the the Annozilla project, designed to view and create
18: annotations associated with a web page, as defined by the <a
19: href="http://www.w3.org/2001/Annotea/">W3C Annotea project. The idea is to
20: store annotations as RDF on a server, using XPointer (or at least XPointer-like
21: constructs) to identify the region of the document being annotated.

22:
The intention of Annozilla is to use Mozilla's native facilities to
23: manipulate annotation data - its built-in RDF handling to parse the
24: annotations, and nsIXmlHttpRequest to submit data when creating
25: annotations.

26:
To use Annozilla, you will need to install the
27: code, get set up with a user account with an annotation server <a
28: href="http://annotest.w3.org/access">(e.g., the W3C test server) , and then
29: you should be ready to go.

30:
You can also see some screenshots - an
31: example of the sidebar in action, and the preferences panel.

32:
Version 0.3 is the latest release. It works with Mozilla builds between 0.9 and 0.9.4 (I think), but isn't so great with 0.9.6. (Netscape 6.01 will not work, but 6.1 and 6.2 should be be OK - I have not tested this myself.) Changes in 0.3 include:

33:

34:
An integrated interface to create annotations
35:
Annotate either the whole document or a selection of it
36:
Specify the language of your annotation
37:
Filter annotations by language
38:
