7:
News, 7th January: The next version is still under development but should be available by the end of the month. It will require 0.9.7.

8:
News, 27th November: The latest Annozilla release (0.3) does not work
9: with Mozilla 0.9.6, owing to some changed interfaces and so on. I am
10: working to get out a new version which addresses all those
11: issues.

12:
This is the the Annozilla project, designed to view and create
13: annotations associated with a web page, as defined by the <a
14: href="http://www.w3.org/2001/Annotea/">W3C Annotea project. The idea is to
15: store annotations as RDF on a server, using XPointer (or at least XPointer-like
16: constructs) to identify the region of the document being annotated.

17:
The intention of Annozilla is to use Mozilla's native facilities to
18: manipulate annotation data - its built-in RDF handling to parse the
19: annotations, and nsIXmlHttpRequest to submit data when creating
20: annotations.

21:
To use Annozilla, you will need to install the
22: code, get set up with a user account with an annotation server <a
23: href="http://annotest.w3.org/access">(e.g., the W3C test server) , and then
24: you should be ready to go.

25:
You can also see some screenshots - an
26: example of the sidebar in action, and the preferences panel.

27:
Version 0.3 is the latest release. It works with Mozilla builds between 0.9 and 0.9.4 (I think), but isn't so great with 0.9.6. (Netscape 6.01 will not work, but 6.1 and 6.2 should be be OK - I have not tested this myself.) Changes in 0.3 include:

28:

29:
An integrated interface to create annotations
30:
Annotate either the whole document or a selection of it
31:
Specify the language of your annotation
32:
Filter annotations by language
33:
