1.1 matthew 2:
                      3:
Here are some aims of the Annozilla project.
                      4:
1.4 ! matthew 5:
Keep up with Mozilla releases

        ! 6:
The 0.3.1 release brings Annozilla up to date with Mozilla 0.9.7. With the
! 7: latest nightly builds, the preferences panel will not appear in the preferences
! 8: tree; I hope to make a new Annozilla release once Mozilla 0.9.8 comes out.

        ! 9:
1.2 matthew 10:
Interopability with Amaya

1.1 matthew 11:
                     12:
Annozilla should support all annotation features which Amaya supports. In
                     13: particular:

                     14:
1.2 matthew 15:
Any annotation posted by Amaya should be readable with Annozilla

1.1 matthew 16:
Currently Annozilla does not achieve this: Amaya can produce XPointers which
17: Annozilla cannot interpret. Doug Daniels has recently provided me with a patch
18: for improved XPointer support; I hope to include this in a 0.4 release in
                     19: February/March.

                     20:
The annotation schema has also had facilities added recently to allow
21: Replies to annotations; Annozilla does not support this.

                     22:
1.2 matthew 23:
All annotation facilities provided by Amaya should be provided

1.1 matthew 24:
In addition to the new Reply capability, Annozilla does not provide a way of
                     25:

                     26:
deleting

                     28:
changing the type
                     29:

30: of annotations. Some of these may be included in a 0.4 or 0.5 release.

                     31:
                     32:
There have also been requests for Annozilla to interface with multiple
33: servers, or to be able to keep annotations in a local file. These will be
                     34: considered.
